We are pleased to announce that we have agreed a long-term partnership with Swiss based carbon offsetter and supplier, carbon-connect GmbH. The relationship represents a small but meaningful step in the Team’s progression towards an improved environmental positioning as it will facilitate the offsetting of all our carbon emissions.
Offsetting carbon involves companies financing or part-financing projects that save the equivalent amount of carbon generated by the company. We elected to partner with carbon-connect GmbH (www.carbon-connect.ch) due to their high-quality projects and unique infrastructure solutions for carbon credit offsetters and investors.
Although we compete in a resource restricted era of Formula 1, we recognise that we can still make small inroads into improving our operations. Prior to this new partnership with carbon-connect GmbH, the Team has worked with its official supplier JCC Lighting to replace all the fluorescent lighting at the Marussia Technical Centre in Banbury, UK, with low voltage LED products to achieve a reduction in electricity usage and lower maintenance costs, as LED bulbs last for approximately 10,000 hours.
